Armed Forces Day Employee Spotlight: Mitchell Goodwin | Mississippi Ag & Arkansas Ag
Here at Mississippi Ag and Arkansas Ag, we look at our team members as one big AgUp family. We are fortunate to have so many incredible employees that dedicate their time and energy to this team day in and day out, and we greatly appreciate every one of them. This month, in honor of Armed Forces Day, we want to recognize service technician, Mitchell Goodwin.
Before joining the AgUp team, Mitchell worked as a mechanic for the United States Marine Corps. He joined the Marines shortly after graduating high school in 2008 and served until 2011. He’s always been interested in helping others, taking on challenges, and learning what makes things tick.
Mitchell grew up in Holly Bluff, Mississippi, just down the road from Yazoo City. He’s been around farming and equipment his whole life, because he grew up helping his father on the farm that his dad still operates today. Mitchell graduated from Yazoo County High School.
Now, as an AgUp employee, Mitchell loves working on all the most challenging projects. He is always excited to learn more about the technology in the new equipment that comes through the door. His favorite piece of equipment right now is the R4038 Sprayer — especially the newest one in Yazoo County that has tracks on it!
Mitchell thinks military people are a good fit for this industry because they come equipped with a great amount of discipline. Military personnel are mentally and physically prepared for what it takes to get the job done, according to Mitchell. That includes adapting to new challenges, dealing with weather changes, and having good people skills.
Additionally, Mitchell thinks agriculture is important for vets and military personnel because, for everyone in this country, Agriculture provides essentials like food and fiber — but it also provides good careers and employment opportunities.
When it comes to equipment dealers, Mitchell feels that the service at Mississippi Ag and Arkansas Ag set it apart from the competition. Not only do you get premium quality products with state-of-the-art technology, but you also get a commitment to education, training and an excellent customer experience, Mitchell said.
Outside of work, Mitchell enjoys fishing, hunting, riding ATVs and spending time with his family. Mitchell, we are so thrilled to have you with us here at Mississippi Ag and Arkansas Ag. Thank you for all that you do for Yazoo City, for this company, and for our country. You are valued and appreciated!
